高校在学中に制作した”Coffin”という作品をきっかけに注目を集めた丸山純奈は、「自分とは何者か」というテーマのもと2021年に上海の宝龍美術館で同館史上最年少での個展を成功させました。その後2022年にはロンドンでの個展を開催し、このたび東京での個展に於いて「自分とは何者か」というテーマを完成させます。日本での初個展が、5年に亘り彼女が追求してきた根本概念を発表する場となります。今展を多くの皆様に体感していただきたく、ぜひご高覧ください。
Junna Maruyama garnered widespread attention for her piece Coffin, created while she was still in high school. In 2021, she held a solo exhibition at Shanghai’s Powerlong Museum based on the theme of “who am I?,” setting a new record as the youngest artist to ever have a solo exhibition at that institution. She held an additional solo exhibition in London in 2022, and now she is completing her exhibition series based on the “who am I?” theme with another solo exhibition in Tokyo. This will be Maruyama’s first solo showing in Japan and serve as a venue to present her discoveries based on five years of exploring the same underlying theme. We hope as many guests as possible will attend to view the artist’s work.
